Maternity services

If you are pregnant you will initially have a “booking” appointment with the midwife. Please visit the Royal Cornwall Hospital website, via the link below, for more information and how to self refer, or phone 01209 881788 to set up your digital maternity record.

Please also read the document on Maternity Registration.

The booking appointment is usually at about 8-10 weeks of your pregnancy. The appointment takes about an hour and can take place at your home or at the clinic.

The midwives can be contacted by ringing them on their direct line at Falmouth Hospital 01326 436670. In an emergency the midwives can be contacted 24/7 on 01872 258000

To Do List

The NHS website has a useful list of to-do’s during your pregnancy. You don’t need to do them all right away.

The most important things however are to start taking pregnancy vitamins ASAP, and to stop smoking.

Have a look at the list for the suggestions.
