Do I Need To Be Protected Against Pneumococcal Infection?
Everybody aged 65 and over should now be immunised to help protect them against pneumococcal infection which can cause diseases such as pneumonia, septicaemia (blood poisoning) and meningitis. This is a one off vaccine for the vast majority of patients, with the single jab providing long lasting immunity.
Eligible patients will be invited as they become eligible i.e. turning 65, or being diagnosed with an eligible condition.
